Sensitive, dry skin undergoes a significant decrease in natural moisture retaining factors and a decline in skin lipids (e.g. ceramides). The barrier funtion of the skin is impaired and this leads to an uncontrolled loss of moisture. Signs of dry skin are a feeling of thightness, roughness, burning, scaliness and itching.
